Hector Morales, Owner/Trainer

With over 25 years of experience, I have been involved in boxing and fitness since the age of 9. I was born and raised in Ponce, Puerto Rico, where I learned the old-school philosophy I now teach at The Boxing Yard. Coming to the United States in my late teens, I knew boxing would always be a part of my life.

My Fight Against the Obesity Epidemic

In recent years I have watched as America’s weight and obesity problem has become an epidemic. Being overweight or obese affects everyone, not just the individual, because of the financial burden it places on society. According to the CDC, in 2011 medical expenses attributed to weight problems reached almost 100 billion dollars. That is a huge sum of money and part of the reason why healthcare in America is so unaffordable.

I decided that the best way I could help was to use my knowledge and experience to open The Boxing Yard and help people of all levels reach their fitness goals. Together we can curb obesity in America and have fun by staying fit. Let’s do it!
